The rules are simple – email your photographs to photo@m44.co.uk or post them on a disk to our offices at 77 Liverpool Road, Cadishead (make sure to include your name and contact details)

Your entry could be a favourite landscape in the area, a natural image and just a fabulous shot at a local event that really captures the essence of the local communty.

We are looking for pictures taken in Irlam, Cadishead and Rixton with Glazebrook.

The winning photograph will be used on the front page of the Autumn / Winter M44 directory or the Spring / Summer 2012 edition, depending on the picture.

The photo competition was a great success with some excellent entries.  The winner will be announced on the 10th October, so good luck to everyone who took part.

We are also in the process of moving offices, to 79 Liverpool Road. It wasn’t a long way to move, but it has been quite disruptive to our schedule. The autumn / winter edition of the M44 magazine will be delivered to Irlam and Cadishead in early November, so please get in touch if you want to be included.

The big question is, if we can’t deal with the mighty USA, how will we cope against Germany, Ghana, or should we reach the final.. Spain.

And plenty of commentators seem happy to blame the ‘new style’ football for Green’s inability to get his body behind it. Nonsense. He messed up.

But, there is hope. After watching Algeria and Slovenia struggle to hit a barn door with a football for 90 minutes, England should be confident of knocking plenty of goals past both of these teams – with the aim of topping the group on goal difference and avoiding Germany in the next round.

Hopefully by then the teams confidence will be higher and we will cope easily with any team we meet. Argentina, Brazil or Spain on route to the trophy.

It’s true, England are gonna win the cup. Now can somebody switch them trumpet things off?

Over Easter our junior teams celebrated a fantastic night at our end of season presentation night.

Dean Macgilvary from Salford City Reds was in attendance to hand out medals to all our junior players.

As a club we have recruited 70 junior players accross 4 age groups in less than 2 years with this figure increasing every week!

I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone who has made this possible and helped towards our success.

Irlam Cricket Club is on the lookout for new players for the upcoming season.

From Years 4, 5 and 6 through to the U17s – all abilities, boys and girls are invited to go along to Irlam Cricket Club at Irlam Steel to join the qualified coaches for a pre season training session. All equipment is provided.

We’re building up good relationships with local employers and adding more jobs vacancies as they become available, helping people  find local employment.

Some of the employers we have recently posted vacancies from include Makro, Kingsland Wines and Spirits, Rehau, City West, Automech, I.C.C.H.S and the Rhinewood, to name but a few. Hopefully over the coming months more vacancies will be added to the site, so watch this space.
